An "accidental" Happy Dance and checking the Temperature....

I started my Friday Frolics this week wrestling Furio for control of my stitching - lol!  He really is my stitching cat!

I am pleased to say that I won the tussle (yay! I could beat a cat a 100 times smaller than me - lol!) and managed a finish before my Friday morning coffee group.

Sorry, I did iron it but it still looks a little crumpled!  I made a few changes to the original  - see below - I hope that you like them.

Then it was onto my Temperature SAL.....

Pretty happy, quite a bit achieved on this SAL piece.

Of course, all of this qualifies for FNSI hosted by the wonderful Wendy.

This is a virtual Sew-In held on the third Friday of every month.  If you want to see what all the other FNSIers got up to this month you can find out here.

What did you stitch on for Friday Frolics this week?

P.S. I am having ANOTHER Girl's Nest Giveaway (#6) on my main blog, Kitten Stitching, click on the pic below if you would like to enter.  Closes May 31st.

Barbara - The Flashing Scissors - (2018 - 3)

Hello my friends,

This Friday evening I thought I'd rake out a really old project and see if I could turn it into a FFO (Fully Finished Object)!

Starting with a piccy as it seems I have stitched more since my last post ..... filed here on "Kitten Stitching and the FF" .... surprisingly enough under "Tatty Teddy".

I've mostly been putting him off because of the backstitching, but as I now have a super-dooper magnifying glass I thought I'd be able to make better progress.

Tatty Teddy - Cross Stitcher

Needless to say, I didn't get very far last night, as I wasn't sure which colour I'd previously used! Twice I had the needle threaded and then thought "No, it doesn't look right!" So I had to put it on hold until I'd checked the colours in daylight today.

The Flashing Scissors
Especially tricky as I had listed backstitching at least
a couple of times!

I've seen blogs where people have stitched TT, and I remember one lady in particular saying she was "winging it" with her backstitching of his fur, but I'm too scared to do that sure it would be a mess if I finished it that way. I can see he won't be finished any time soon!

One good thing though ..... I'll be stitching more later today as it just happens to be IHSW this weekend!

Do any of you have tips for easy backstitching?

Anyway, must go now, wishing you all a great weekend! I'm off to catch up on reading what everyone has been up to. See you soon! Although I might be tapping away on the 'puter again later as I have a Gifted Gorgeousness, and a TUSAL post to catch up with.

Happy Stitching Everyone!!

Working on my Village....

This week for Friday Frolics I picked up my The Village Alphabet by Cross My Heart Inc.  I was inspired to purchase the design after seeing the gorgeous work of my dear friend and fellow Frolicker - Brigitte -  a couple of years ago. If you follow the link you will see that she is just a few letters ahead of me (fifteen to be exact as I am yet to finish a letter!).

The last time I stitched on this was February last year ... and here is where I left it.

.... and here is my progress after an evening of stitching.....

I must say that stitching the brickwork is time consuming and requires quite a deal of concentration and the wielding of a highlighter on the pattern but it the effect is definitely worth it.

.... and hopefully, one day it will look like this.....

I plan to stitch on it some more this afternoon, so maybe there will be an "L" Happy Dance sometime in my near future?????

A new WIP

Hello friends,

my number generator chose another WIP and yesterday I started stitching on it. It's by the French designer Evelyne Begey, Une année en Alsace (A Year in Alsace). There are 12 designs, one for each month. I stitch them all on one piece of fabric. I started with June, the month of cherries, back in 2015. And now I add May, the month of lilies of the valley.

Yesterday I stitched the border on top of the design. And now I will continue stitching the lady in her Alsatian regional costume.

Until next Friday with another WIP,

Another Friday

and so another WIP/UFO pulled out of my Girl's Nest.  This week it was "Christmas at Winterberry Cabin" by With thy Needle & Thread.

I am not sure when I last stitched on this as I cannot find a blog post anywhere that references it but this is what it looked like when I pulled it out of my stash.

... and here is my progress pic ....

The two pics above are the same, the first one shows the stitching with more clarity but the second one (which I used a filter on) is closest to the true colours.

Pretty pleased with my progress, did you stitch anything for Friday Frolics?

A Stag

Hello friends,

last Friday after finishing the G house for my little Village I pulled out Dutch Beauty and I stitched the stag. And this is how page A looks now:

Today I will put it away and start a new project.

Until next time,
